In Fiscal Year 2008:
- The US Small Business Administration’s (SBA) flagship 7(a) program participated in 69,434 loans – totaling $12,671,136,000.
- The SBA’s 504 program participated in 8,883 loans – totaling $5,289,790,000.
- The SBA granted 77 SBA 504 loans in New Jersey – totaling $68,900,000.
In 2007:
- The NJ Economic Development Authority issued more than $680,000,000 in financing assistance and State business incentives and tax credits to 380 projects spread throughout New Jersey.
- In Burlington County the NJ Economic Development Authority issued more than $17,000,000 in financing and incentives to 20 projects.
- In Camden County the NJ Economic Development Authority issued more than $30,000,0000 in financing and Incentives to 40 projects.
Plus there are several regional, county and local funding programs established to assist businesses to locate or expand within a particular area. For example in Burlington County there is a Route 130 Revolving Loan Fund which provides assistance to 12 municipalities along the Delaware River from Palmyra to Florence. Companies investing in these towns are eligible for zero-interest loans and other financing opportunities. Also, within the City of Camden there is a NJ Urban Enterprise Zone and a U.S. Empowerment Zone. These zones offer additional business incentives to firm’s located within their boarders.
